ABOUT THE BOOK
The book Preparing to be a Wife through the Fruits of the Spirit was birthed through my desire to understand marriage. Marriage, love and relationships are such a complicated thing…and I was failing at it over and over and over again! Honestly, I was exhausted from the hurt and the scaring that it left on my heart. This prompted me to reach out for help! I reached out to the Creator, my Father in Heaven for His guidance and understanding. After all, He created marriage so who better to seek direction from! He directed me to go back to The Beginning! He directed me back to the Garden of Eden when man and woman were first created. He gave me spiritual revelation on how He created us to function in His Kingdom and reminded me that His laws and commandants were literally set in stone for a reason. We are to follow the laws that He has created and set in place within His Kingdom to assist us in living a harmonious life. Just as The Holy Spirit is alive and well in us, so are the laws that God commanded of us to follow in the Old Testament; from The Beginning.
At some point in our lives, each of us can identify with a commandment that we have disobeyed. As for me, I can identify with several! I was tired of me! I needed help, not only with love but I needed help so that I could be delivered from my selfishness. I began to sit with My Father in Heaven and opened up the book of Genesis. Although there are only a few chapters within Genesis that discusses Adam and Eve, it is packed with so much knowledge and revelation! The one thing that stood out was that God called man and woman to work together. The man was created to be the provider and the woman was created to be his helpmeet. However, the serpent “satan” is always looking for ways to divide us. He is cunning, calculated and he is ALWAYS seeking to destroy the beauty of God’s creation. So how do we beat satan at His own game?! We can’t but God can! The only way to beat satan is to fight him with the word of God! Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. We are called to meditate on the word of God daily. There is not one day on God’s green earth that passes where we don’t need Him. We need God for His guidance, His instructions and His infinite wisdom. We need Thee, every hour! I realized that if I wanted to succeed at love, I HAD to do it God’s way! The truth is that I was not aware of how to become a wife. Besides my upbringing, watching friends, false narratives on TV/reality shows, and the trial and error through my own personal failures; I was oblivious! Spending time with God and understanding who He is and who He created me to be began to put things into perspective. The unknown became clearer! Now, I am choosing to become a wife by the Fruits of the Spirit!
